Through these turbulent economic times there is nothing that has remained stable and that includes the richest men in the world. For the third year in a row the world has a different richest man. A Mexican business man named Carlo Slim Helu has become the richest man in the world according to Forbes. This means that he has beaten out Bill Gates and moved the money south of the boarder. Mr. Helu’s fortune has been estimated at over$53 billion which is up a considerable amount from 12 months ago when it was just over $18 billion. Mr. Hule has made most of his fortune from a 23 percent stake in America Movil shares. These shares have gone up around 35 percent in this past year alone. This has taken away the hold that Bill Gates has had on this title who has been at the top of the list for 14 out of 15 of the past years. Bill Gates has a fortune just slightly under $53 billion dollars which has increased significantly over this past year.
